IN CHARACTER

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Go ahead! She can be playfully touchy, but doesn't necessarily enjoy the tables being turned on her. Sort of catlike?
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: She's a professional assassin. Not that physically imposing in a straight fight, but she's ruthless and absolutely knows all of your vital points.
RELATIONSHIPS: Here to explore basically anything and everything. Chemistry is key, which basically goes without saying?
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS & TRIGGERS: Not much is likely to faze her. There are some dark elements to her canon (child abuse, torture—there's a whole evil empire) but Chelsea isn't likely to reference that stuff unless prompted.

OUT OF CHARACTER

BACKTAGGING: Always and forever.
THREADHOPPING: Generally cool with it! Definitely check with me and the other party if it's a more serious thread.
FOURTHWALLING: Meta stuff in the brackets is always fine and fun. Not really interested in anything beyond that, honestly.
OPT OUT: If you'd like to opt out of the Chelsea experience for any reason, comments for this post are screened.

History: Here

Personality: Chelsea’s personality is very reflective of her life experiences. When she was younger, working as a servant for a cruel viceroy who hunted human beings for sport squashed her dreams of living a happy life, forcing her to face the brutality of the world firsthand; this sent her down a nihilistic spiral. It likely would have killed her spirit if she hadn’t come across the teigu Gaia Foundation. Its power allowed her to assassinate the corrupt viceroy and change her homeland for the better. This backstory highlights a few of Chelsea’s defining traits: willingness to get her hands dirty; a deadly passion for bettering the word—and, on top of that, a strong desire to play an important role.

With many, many successful assassinations under her belt, Chelsea is confident in her killing abilities. In order to use her teigu well, Chelsea relies on deception—an art that she has more or less mastered, with the help of her quick wits and focused demeanor. She also has a diligent and studious nature, which gave her the opportunity to work for such a high profile member of the government in the first place. During her attempt to kill Kurome, Chelsea is able to fool the former while impersonating Bols, her teammate, using information gathered by Tatsumi. Likewise, she is shown to know quite a bit about all of her targets and uses what she’s gleaned to exploit their specific weaknesses.

Pragmatism is another one of Chelsea’s important traits. When she first joins Night Raid, she ruffles a few feathers by suggesting that their former comrades were killed in action because they were “soft.” While she’s right to an extent (both lost their lives while protecting a more vulnerable member of their party) the harsh words also have an emotional through line; the last team she worked with was completely wiped out, so she’s reasonably hesitant to dive in and start making friends. That said, Night Raid’s camaraderie does have an effect on her, and later she shows them some (largely teasing and playful) affection. Tatsumi is the exception, and she starts to have feelings for him that, unfortunately, influence her into taking a risk that results in her death.

In lighter situations, Chelsea can be more than a bit of a teasing flirt (towards both genders), and she enjoys playing pranks on people, often abusing her teigu to pull them off. Deep down at her core she does like people, and humanity as a whole, hence why she’s willing to kill in order to make the world better. At first, she’ll definitely be keeping almost everybody at arm’s length, but it won’t last forever. Having friends is important to her, even if she’d rather come off as cool and aloof.

Abilities: Chelsea’s Gaia Foundation allows her to take the exact appearance of almost anything and anyone. Its limits are never extrapolated on in detail, but my notion is to stick to people and things that are person-sized or smaller. I'm happy to have this power nerfed as needed, and by default, I'll always reach out OOCly and get permission before having her impersonating any player characters or NPCs.

Bloom Bond Flower:

-Hyacinth (essentially every trait fits for her except jealousy)
-Tulip (bright future, belief, unrequited feelings and regret all fit her)
-Hydrangea (patience, loyalty, heartlessness and coldness all apply)
